Born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, I am part Chinese and part Kadazan, an ethnic group indigenous to the state of Sabah. The name of my business, Olumis (“oh-loo-mis”), comes from my native language “Kadazan”, meaning beauty/beautiful. A portion of my work pays homage to my Chinese and Kadazan heritage.
